At the request of the Connetquot Teachers' Association,
the New York State Committee on Safety and Health (NYCOSH)
visited the Connetquot School District. All the information
submitted by teachers regarding health and safety concerns
were reviewed by representatives of NYCOSH. This resulted
in inspection of several buildings in the district.
This inspection will result in a report outlining issues
that need to be addressed in order to improve the health
and safety of the teachers and students.
The CTA is in the process of developing a committee
of teachers from each building that will investigate
and address health and safety issues in the district.
Members of this committee will be trained by NYCOSH
representatives in order to better serve the teachers
and students of the district. The CTA Health and Safety
Committee will have a representative on the District's
Health and Safety Committee so CTA recommendations can
be implemented.
