CONNETQUOT TEACHERS INVOLVED WITH POLITICAL ACTION
Connetquot teachers responded to the call for help to make calls from the NYSUT Regional Office in Hauppauge this past week for Candidate Rich Montano (State Senate candidate) and for Tim Bishop who is running for re-election to Congress in the 1st Congressional District. Connetquot Teachers Association was well represented, having 29 of its members in attendance making hundreds of phone calls to fellow NYSUT members, reminding them of the importance of voting and supporting those candidates who have stood up and supported us.
Tony Felicio, Jr. stated, “How gratifying and appreciative I am to see many of our teachers taking an active roll in political action. Due to the numerous attacks on us and on public education from politicians and others who know nothing about education and the terrific jobs that we do day in and day out, political action has become one of the most important things we do to combat the erroneous and misleading information put out there by self-serving individuals.”
Tony went on to thank his members for their “efforts and sacrifice.”
